STARTING A NEW DIOCESAN COMMISSION ON ADDICTION AND RECOVERY
Recovery Ministries is an independent, nationwide network of Episcopal laity and clergy, dioceses and parishes, schools, agencies and other institutions—all with a common commitment to address the use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs in relation to the church’s mission. |

STEPS
A. Put together, with God’s help and a lot of prayer, a core group of interested people, willing to work on the project for at least two years. B. Publish a “Mission Statement” approved of and signed by the Bishop. (Examples available) C. Form a Commission consisting of:
¨ Members of the recovering community ¨ People in the field of treatment ¨ Clergy in recovery ¨ Get Started on some things to offer the Parishes, like the following, and know that we will help with examples and direction ¨ Recovery Sunday ¨ 12-Step Eucharist ¨ Diocesan brochure ¨ Recovery Ministries brochures ¨ Retreats and weekends ¨ Outside and community speakers ¨ Diocesan Convention Displays ¨ Recovery Ministries membership ¨ Community recovery resources ¨ Recovery Ministries annual “Gathering” |
