The Addictions Recovery Ministry of the Diocese of Louisiana announces its 30th annual weekend for women and men who are or who wish to be in recovery. The weekend will take place at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center in Loranger, Louisiana, August 2-4, 2013. The weekend begins with supper at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2 and ends following a 12-Step Morning Prayer Service on Sunday, August 4 about noon. You may check in on Friday after 3:00 p.m. However, you may arrive at SECC as early as 1:00 pm on Friday. On Friday night we will gather in the chapel at 7:30 p.m. to start the retreat with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist. A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required and must be paid no later than July 26 2013. Scholarships are available Fr. Jim Harbaugh, S.J., has been a member of the Jesuit order for 49 years and a priest for 36. With his doctorate in the Victorian Novel, he taught English and Humanities at the Jesuit universities in Denver and Seattle. As a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor, he has taught Addictions Counseling and been otherwise active in working with addictions, especially 12 Step retreats, for 29 years. Most recently he has worked in parishes in Seattle and Tacoma. He is the author of two books on the Twelve Steps, including A Twelve Step Approach to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.
